The heat I feel
Is suffocating
When the weather changes
And the sun is blazing
The floor is so hot
Can’t walk properly
When did a fertile land
Turn to a barren one?
There’s no room for the poor to breathe
And the rich are beginning to cry

Let the poor breathe
Take this heat away from us
Let us feel at ease
The heat is suffocating
All our dreams
The kids want to sleep
And adults want to chill
But the heat is killing
Oh may we survive!

We need that cooling wind again
We need our rivers to flow again
We need our farms to flourish again
We need a breath of fresh air
Pour us that chilled water
Let this heat leave our land
